I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA set for July 29-31
Three day All Star swing through Western Pennsylvania

INDIANAPOLIS (February 17, 2016) - Western Pennsylvania sprint car fans have three important dates to circle on their 2016 calendar, and all three involve Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will round out the month of July with three consecutive nights of competition at three different Western Pennsylvania ovals. The inaugural I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA Screenprinting and Embroidery will feature three, $5,000-to-win programs on July 29-31. As an added bonus, a $3,000 point fund will also be on the line for the weekend’s top racers.

“All of the promoters involved, including myself, are very excited for the inaugural I-79 Summer Shootout” Tri-City Raceway Park promoter Chad Wagner said, “This is going to be a very special weekend for the drivers and fans. There are a lot of people who helped bring this concept together. The I-79 Summer Shootout has the potential to grow into something even bigger in 2017. Our goal is to maximize that potential and really give the fans in our area something unique and exciting to look forward to each and every year.”

The inaugural I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA will ignite with a Friday night visit to the Eriez Speedway just outside of Erie on July 29. The three-eighths mile dirt oval, smallest on the weekend swing, will host the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions for the first time ever during the I-79 Summer Shootout.

After a short, two hour jaunt down Interstate 79, the I-79 Summer Shootout will resume on Saturday evening, July 30, at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial. “Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile” will prove to be a fast and action-packed battleground for the Western Pennsylvania regulars and Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, with potential speeds reaching 150 mph. All Star competitors visited PPMS on two separate occasions in 2015, with Greg Wilson and Dale Blaney each making victory lane appearances.

“This deal may be the best sprint car racing our fans see in our region this year” Pittsburgh promoter Matt Miley said, “Fans have the chance to watch the All Stars race on three consecutive nights, at three historic tracks, with three different configurations. The promoters have all been working together to make this a win for everyone. We hope to see everyone here in July!”

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will wrap-up the inaugural I-79 Summer Shootout on Sunday, July 31, at Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin, Pennsylvania. It will the first appearance by the All Stars since Tri-City Speedway was re-established as Tri-City Raceway Park in 2014. The half-mile dirt oval sat idle for four years, but has since been renovated into a state-of-the-art venue.

As an added bonus for regional fans, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will be joined by the RUSH dirt late models during their Western Pennsylvania trek. The regional crate stars will support the region’s finest open wheel teams on all three nights of the 2016 I-79 Summer Shootout.

“This has the making to be a fantastic weekend of racing” Chad Wagner said, “The tracks have all teamed together to make this a success. We want to attract a large, regional fan base and have them excited to do it again in 2017. The countdown to the I-79 Summer Shootout begins now.”

About the All Star Circuit of Champions:

All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing. Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first 'outlaw' Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years. Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.
