For immediate release,

Imperial, PA

It was a beautiful summer evening for racing at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile with the RUSH Sprint Car Dirt Series in town. Zach Morrow (27M), from Gibsonia, would bring home the checkered flag with his first career PPMS RUSH Sprint Car Victory, as he out-paced a field of twelve cars. Garrett Paugh (03), from Elkins, West Virginia took the win in the RUSH Late Model Dirt Series feature event. Danny RIch (67X), from Imperial, snagged his third win of the season in the PPMS Pro Stock division, while Andy Garlinger (R88), from Hopedale, Ohio, continued to dominate the Four Cylinder Division. Susie Rudolph (55), from Steubenville, Ohio, also continued to dominate the Young Guns division, picking up another victory.

In the RUSH Sprint Car Dirt Series 15-lap feature, Morrow (27M) would start on the pole after winning his heat race. Starting in second was Bradley Blackshear (19), from Brookfield, Ohio. Jeremy Weaver (41), from Stoneboro, and Brian Woodhall (8B), from Apollo, made up the second row. When the green flag dropped, Morrow (27M) would keep the early lead with Bradley Blackshear (19) in tow, and Weaver (41) running in third. At the midpoint of the event, the top five would remain the same. Morrow (27M) was on a rail and would dominate the event, which went green to checkered in record fashion. Morrow (27) would pick up his first career PPMS RUSH Sprint Car victory. Following him to the line was, Bradley Blackshear (19) in second, Weaver (41) in third, Woodhall (8B) in fourth, Brandon Hawkins (27H) in fifth, Andy Feil (9J) in sixth, Brandon Blackshear (10) in seventh, Steve Pedley (21) in eighth, Matt Sherlock III (55) in ninth, and Brian Hartzell (69) completed the top 10. Morrow (27M) and Weaver (41) were the heat race winners.

In the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series 20-lap feature event, Ryan Frazee (11F), from Addison, would be the pole-sitter. To his outside and starting in second place was Ron Hall (01), from Hookstown. The second row consisted of Paugh (03) in third and Michael Duritsky (90J) in fourth. When the green flag waved, Frazee (11F) would keep an early lead. Lap three had Frazee (11F) still leading with Paugh (03) in second, Hall (01) in third, Logan Zarin (1Z), from Moon Township, in fourth and Duritsky (90J) in fifth. Frazee (11F) was looking dialed in by lap five as he led the field. Frazee (11F) would enter lapped-traffic by lap seven and then the first caution would come on the following lap for the 111 of Pete Wearing, from Evan City, as he hit the wall under the flag stand. Frazee (11F) would lead the restart, as he chose the inside. Paugh (03) was in second, Hall (01) was in third, Zarin (1Z) was in fourth, and Duritsky (90J) was in fifth. The field returned to green with twelve laps to go in the event and Paugh (03) had a stellar restart, which gave him the lead. Paugh (03) had a whole straightaway lead by lap 14 and he would enter lapped-traffic on the following lap. Another caution would slow the pace on lap 16 when a car had trouble in turn two. Paugh (03) would now lead the restart and when the field returned to green-flag action, Paugh (03) would keep the lead, but another caution would come out for a car that spun out in turn two. Paugh (03) would choose the outside on the restart with Frazee (11F) in second, Tommy Schirnhofer (8) in third, Duritsky (90J) in fourth, and Hall (01) in fifth. Nice Dabecco (F1) was penalized two spots for passing before the cone on the previous restart. When the field returned to green, Paugh (03) would again keep the lead. Paugh (03) would lead the remaining four laps of the event, en route to his first PPMS win of the season. He was followed to the line by, Duritsky (90J) in second, Frazee (11F) in third, Dabecco (F1) in fourth, Schirnhofer (8) in fifth, Ben Policz (14B) in sixth, Zarin (1Z) in seventh, Hall (01) in eighth, Christian Schnedier (1ST) in ninth, and Bill Kessler (09) rounded out the top 10. Heat race winners were Duritsky (90J) and Schneider (1ST).

In the PPMS Pro Stock 15-lap feature, Rich (67X) would start on the pole. Justin Lamb (47X), from Findlay Township, would start in the second spot in the Kraisinger Pro Stock. Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger, would start in third, and Ryan Moyer (13X), from Portersville, would finish the top two rows. When the green flag waved, the field didn’t even complete a lap before the first caution came out when Vince Laboon (18) and Kocuba (10), got together in turn two. A complete restart would ensue with Laboon (18) now out of the race and Kocuba (10) would tag the field after entering the pits to have his car checked out. When the green flag dropped, Lamb (47X) would keep the early lead. Another caution would come on lap five when a car had trouble in turn two. Lamb (47X) would lead the field on the restart with Rich (67X) in second and Moyer (13X) in third. When the field returned to green-flag action, Lamb (47X) and Rich (67X) would battle side by side for the lead with Lamb (47X) keeping it by lap seven. Lamb (47X) continued to dominate the race but on lap 13, bad luck would come, as Lamb (47X) had a flat tire, giving Rich (67X) the lead. Rich (67X) would lead the remaining two laps of the event, en route to his third PPMS Pro Stock victory of the season. He was followed to the line by, Kocuba (10) in second, Dave McManus (114) in third, Moyer (13X) in fourth, Lamb (47X) in fifth, A.J. Poljak (36) in sixth, and Laboon (18) in seventh. The heat race winner was Rich (67X).

The Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stocks always put on one of the best shows of the night and Saturday didn’t disappoint. 13 cars would start the event with Matt Bernard (15B), from Oakdale, starting on the pole. To his outside and starting in second was Adam Ferree (29), from Jefferson Hills. Ed Shlepman (17P), from Pleasant Hills, would start in third, and Marcus Simmons (68X), from Beaver Falls, would start in fourth. When the green flag dropped, the caution would come out just as fast for Bernard (15B) who spun out on the front stretch. A full restart would take place and when the green flag dropped for the second time, Ferree (29) would take the early lead. Another caution would come on lap two when Casey Grumling (77X), from Elrama had trouble on the backstretch. Ferree (29) would choose the outside on the restart and when the field returned to green-flag action, S. Shelpman (17S), would steal the lead. Another caution would come only four laps into the event for a crash in turn two. S. Shelpman (17S) would lead the field on the restart and keep the lead, once again. Lap seven would see another caution when Simmons (68X) would spin out coming out of turn four. Again, S. Shelpman (17S) would lead the field on the restart and keep the lead. One more caution would happen in the event with S. Shelpman (17S) keeping the lead on the restart and leading the field to victory. He was followed to the line by, Grumling (77X) in second after tagging the field earlier in the event for bringing out the yellow, Frank Magill (05) in third, Ferree (29) in fourth, Simmons (68X) in fifth, Andrew Sutton (16A) in sixth, Ben Anton (13) in seventh, Karlee Kovacs (221K) in eighth, Kayla McManus (171) in ninth, and Tom Anton (313) would complete the top 10. The heat race winners were S. Shelpman (17S) and Ferree (29).

In the Four Cylinders 10-lap feature event, Garlinger (R88) continued his domination in the division. There was a four-car field with Garlinger (R88) starting in last place. Starting on the pole was Tanya Charlier (21), from Midway. Starting in second was Craig Rudolph (5R), from Steubenville, Ohio, and John Gill (19G), from Burgettstown, would start in third. When the green flag waved, Garlinger (R88) had the lead by the second turn. Lap two had Garlinger (R88) building his lead over the field with C. Rudolph (5R) in second, Gill (19G) in third, and T. Charlier (21) in fourth. T. Charlier (21) would pass Gill (19G)l for third on lap three. Garlinger (R88) had a half of a track lead by the eighth lap and would lead the field to another PPMS Four-Cylinder victory. He was followed to the line by C. Rudolph (5R) in second, Charlier (21) in third, and Gill (19G) in fourth. The Four Cylinders did not run a heat race.

Kyle Janas (88), from Coraopolis, would start in third, Tony Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, would start in fourth, and S. Rudolph (55) would start in last place. When the green flag dropped, it didn’t take S. Rudolph (55) long to show the boys who the boss is. S. Rudolph (55) took the lead on lap three with Janas (88) in second, T. Magill (05) in third, C. Lambert (223) in fourth and C. Hollister (44) in fifth. The event’s lone caution would come on lap five when T. Magill (05) lost a tire in turns three and four. S. Rudolph (55) would bring the field back to green-flag action and would lead the remaining three laps of the event, en route to another PPMS Young Guns victory. She was followed to the line by, Janas (88) in second, C. Lambert (223) in third, T. Magill (05) in fourth, and C. Hollister (44) in fifth. The Young Guns did not run a heat race.
