policz and lukon win the Falconi’s red miley rumble

For immediate release

Imperial, PA

31 RUSH Dirt Series Late Models would show up for the 2020 running of the 14th Annual Red Miley Rumble on Saturday night at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. PPMS would see qualifying, five heat races, and seven feature events. Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, would win the first feature for the RUSH Late Model Dirt Series, and Kyle Lukon (184L), from Burgettstown, would bring home the win in the 14th Annual Red Miley Rumble. Policz (14B) and Lukon (184L) are the 14th Annual Red Miley Rumble victors. Tony Tatgenhorst (63T), from Columbiana, Ohio, would pick up the win for the RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series, while Daryl Charlier (114), from Midway, would grab the win in the ADMAR Pro Stock Division, Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, would get the win in the Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock division, and the Bubeck brothers of Philip and Noah continued their winning ways in the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinders and the All Ways Safe Young Guns respectively.

Policz (14B) would set the fast-time in qualifying for the RUSH Late Model Dirt Series with a time of 19.415. Bill Kessler (09), from Freedom, had the second fastest time of 19.469. Less than a second would separate the top 15. The RUSH Late Models would run two features and in feature number one, Policz (14B) and Kessler (09) would start on the front row. When the green flag dropped, the caution was out by turn two for a car that stopped in turn four during the start. The field would line up for a complete restart and when the green flag dropped, Policz (14B) would keep the lead. Lap five saw another caution when Bryan Hoffman (15) hit the wall in turn four. Policz (14B) would take the outside on the restart with John Mollick (60M) to his inside in second place, Mike Duritsky (90J) in third, Lukon (184L) in fourth, and Daryl Charlier (12) in fifth. Policz (14B) would keep the lead on the restart and despite a few early race restarts, the race would stay green for the remaining 15 laps with Policz (14B) taking the Red Miley Rumble win. Following him to the line was Mollick (60M) in second, Duritsky (90J) in third, Lukon (184L) in fourth, Josh Ferry (33F) in fifth, Charlier (12) in sixth, Jake Gunn (14G) in seventh, Tommy Schirnhofer (8S) in eighth, Logan Zarin (1Z) in ninth, and Kessler (09) in ninth. In victory lane, Policz (14B) would draw the invert for the second feature, which ended up being an invert of nine.

In the 33-lap second feature, Zarin (1Z) would start on the pole. To his outside and starting in second was Schirnhofer (8S). J. Gunn (14G) and Charlier (12) would make up the second row. The second feature would start just like the first one. When the green flag dropped, the caution would be out before the field could complete a lap, so a complete restart would ensue. When the field came under green-flag conditions, Zarin (1Z) would keep the lead. On lap nine, Zarin (1Z) was still leading with Schirnhofer (8S) in second, and Charlier (12) in third, when another caution would slow the pace. Zarin (1Z) would lead the field on the restart but when the green flag waved, Schirnhofer (8S) would have the lead at the line. Lap 11 had Schirnhofer (8S) still leading, Policz (14B) now in second, Lukon (184L) in third, Zarin (1Z) in fourth, and Charlier (12) in fifth. Another caution would come on the next lap and Schirnhofer (8S) would lead the restart. When the green flag waved, Policz (14B) would take over the lead, but another caution would come on lap 13 which would force the field to line back up for the restart. Policz (14B) would choose the outside on the restart with Lukon (184L) beside him in second place. When the green light turned on, Policz (14B) would retain the lead. At the midpoint of the event, Policz (14B), Lukon (184L), and Schirnhofer (8S) were running one, two, and three respectively and they would enter lapped-traffic. Lap 20 had another caution for a car that spun out in turn four. Despite Policz (14B) leading the restart, Lukon (184L) would take over the lead when the green flag dropped. Lap 22 had Lukon (184L) still leading, Policz (14B) in second, Zarin (1Z) in third, and Charlier (12) in fourth. The front-runners would enter lapped-traffic again, with Lukon (184L) and Policz (14B) entering a spirited battle for the remaining laps of the event. Policz (14B) would steal the lead on lap 25 and by lap 28, Lukon (184L) had stolen it back. Lukon (184L) would lead the remaining five laps of the event, picking up a second Red Miley Rumble win in a row. He was followed to the line by Policz (14B) in second, Charlier (12) in third, Duritsky (90J) in fourth, Zarin (1Z) in fifth, Schirnhofer (8S) in sixth, Mollick (60M) in seventh, Mike Reft (9R) in eighth, Ferry (33F) in ninth, and J. Gunn (14G) would round out the top 10. The heat race winners were Policz (14B), Kessler (09), Lukon (184L), and Ferry (33F).

The RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series 15-lap feature would start eight cars. Jessica Kriegisch (63), from Ellwood City, would start on the pole. To her outside and starting in second was Jacob Jordan (28J), from Aliquippa. Tatgenhorst (63T) would start in third, while Kole Holden (2), from Tiona, would start in fourth, David Kalb Jr (11J), from Aurora, Ohio, would start in fifth, Jordan Ehrenberg (JD57), from New Castle, would start in sixth, Chelsie Kriegisch (10), from Ellwood City, would start in seventh, and Don Cornelius (113), from New Castle, would complete the eight car field. It didn’t take Tatgenhorst (63T) long to take over the lead and when he did, he didn’t look back, picking up a PPMS RUSH Sportsman Modified win. Following him to the line was Holden (2) in second, Jordan (28J) in third, Kalb Jr (11J) in fourth, C. Kriegisch (10) in fifth, Ehrenberg (JD57) in sixth, J. Kriegisch (63) in seventh, and Cornelius (113) in eighth. The heat race winner was Tatgenhorst (63T).

In the ADMAR Pro Stock 15-lap feature, Jeff Broniszewski (08), from Coraopolis, would start on the pole. Ryan Moyer (13X) from Portersville, would line up in second place. Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger, would start in third, Bill Robertson (1B), from Imperial, would start in fourth, John Gill (19G), from Burgettstown, would start in fifth, and Daryl Charlier (114) would complete the six-car field. When the green flag waved, Broniszewski (08) would keep the lead until lap four when Moyer (13X) would take over the lead. Charlier (114) would move into second place behind Moyer (13X) on lap six and Charlier (114) would steal the lead on lap nine. Lap 10 had Charlier (114) still leading, Moyer (13X) in second, Kocuba (10) in third, Broniszewski (08) in fourth, and Robertson (1B) in fifth. A caution would slow the pace on lap 13 and Charlier (114) would choose the outside on the restart. Charlier (114) would lead the remaining two laps in the event to pick up another PPMS win. He was followed to the line by Moyer (13X) in second, Kocuba (10) in third, Robertson (1B) in fourth, Broniszewski (08) in fifth, and Gill (19G) in sixth. The Pro Stocks did not run a heat race.

The Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock 15-lap feature would start 13 cars. Tom Anton (64), from Jefferson Hills, would be the pole-sitter. John Cain (06), from North Versailles, would start in second, while Cody Koteles (1K), from Stockdale, would start in third, and Karlee Kovacs (221K), would complete the top two starting rows. When the field came under green-flag conditions, the caution would come out just as fast and a complete restart would take place. On attempt number two, Cain (06) and C. Koteles (1K) would battle for the lead and by lap three, C. Koteles (1K) would take the lead. S. Shelpman (17S) would take over second place on lap four after he started tenth. Another caution would slow the pace on lap six and C. Koteles (1K) would choose the outside on the restart. When the green flag dropped, S. Shelpman (17S) would take over the lead. Another caution would come on lap eight and on the restart S. Shelpman (17S) would again keep the lead. One more caution would slow the pace on lap 12 but S. Shelpman (17S) would lead the remaining laps of the event, picking up another PPMS win. He was followed to the line by Frank Magill (05) in second, C. Koteles (1K) in third, Ben Anton (13) in fourth, Robert Betz (22) in fifth, Matt Benard (15) in sixth, Tom Anton (64) in seventh, Cain (06) in eighth, Mike Tropeck (47T) in ninth, and Ed Shelpman (17P) rounds out the top 10. The Hobby Stocks did not run a heat race.

The Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinder feature saw a field of 16 cars with Susie Rudolph (55), from Steubenville, Ohio, starting on the pole. To her outside and starting in second was Andy Garlinger (R88), from Hopedale, Ohio. Matt Knight (71) started in third, and Bob Quigg (16) would complete the top two starting rows. When the green flag dropped, Garlinger (R88) would take the early lead but a caution would force the field to line up and give it another try. When the green flag dropped a second time, Garlinger (R88) would again keep the lead. Coming from sixteenth place, Philip Bubeck (2L) would take over the lead on lap four. P. Bubeck (2L) would enter lapped-traffic on lap seven and he would lead the remaining laps of the event, picking up another Four Cylinder win. He was followed to the line by Bill Tennant (2) in second, Garlinger (R88) in third, April Tennant (95) in fourth, Kyle Janas (88) in fifth, Jay Swager Jr (13) in sixth, Chris Knight (78) in seventh, S. Rudolph (55) in eighth, Quigg (16) in ninth, and Jason Reynolds (53) completes the top 10. The Four Cylinders did not run a heat race.

Cameron Hollister (44), from McDonald, would start on the pole in the All Ways Safe Young Guns feature. Wyatt Mock (88) would start to his outside in second place, while Noah Clipp (69) would start in third, and Noah Bubeck (2) would complete the four-car field. When the green flag waved, N. Bubeck had the lead by the end of lap two. A caution would come out on lap three when Hollister (44) hit the wall in turn four. N. Bubeck (2) would retain the lead when the field returned to green-flag conditions and he would lead the remaining laps of the event to keep his winning streak alive. He was followed by Mock (88) in second, Clipp (69) in third, and Hollister (44) in fourth. The Young Guns Did not run a heat race.
