2023 divison champs crowned as pittsburgher week begins

Imperial, PA (September 24, 2023) For Immediate Release

 

Mother Nature stole the show on Saturday night as rain from Tropical Storm Ophelia played havoic with the speedway grounds forcing a cancelation of the action scheduled for the final points race of 2023. Which meant that division points were final as of 9.16.23

Congratulations to all of our 2023 Division Champions, they are as follows:

Jerry Rents RUSH Sportsman Modifies (2) - Kole Holden - Tiona
Rohrich RUSH Dirt Late Models - Cole Petrelle (184) - Follansbee, WV
PPMS Hobby Stocks - Stephen Shelpman (17P) - Pleasant Hills
Back To Back - Penn Ohio Pro Stocks - AJ Poljak (36) - Baldwin - (Back To Back)
Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders - Susie Rudolph (5R) - Steubenville, OH
All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns - Gavin Kokolis (91) - Oakdale

Petrelle, Rudolph, and Kokolis are first-time Champions with Poljak going back-to-back. Shelpman won his seventh overall Championship and fifth at PPMS while Holden picked up his second Championship at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile.

Racing resumes at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile this coming Friday, September 29 & Saturday, September 30, 2023, for the 35th Annual Pittsburgh Present by Big River Steel. See below for details.

Friday is a full show co-headlined by night one of The Bill Hendren Memorial for the Rohrich RUSH Late Model Dirt Series paying $4,000 to win and the 2nd Annual Bob Walters Memorial for the Penn Ohio Pro Stocks paying $2,042 to win. Also on the card on Friday are the PPMS Hobby Stocks, the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinders, and the All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns.

On Saturday, September 30th the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series brings the world’s best late model drivers to Dirt’s Monster Half Mile as their chase to the Championship continues with their final four being determined at PPMS and a $30,000 to win grand prize. The Rohrich RUSH Late Model Dirt Series will compete for their $10,000 to win the grand prize for night number two of The Bill Hendren Memorial. More information on camping and the Fuel Required Fan Zone will be released soon.

Gates Open at 5 P.M., hot laps begin at 6 P.M., and the racing action will start at 7 P.M.

On Saturday:

Gates Open at 3 P.M., Driver Autograph Session at 4:30 P.M., hot laps begin at 6 P.M., and the racing action will start at 7 P.M.
